Method

Chicken Fingers

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven or Oil

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) or heat oil in a deep fryer.

  2. 2

    Set Up Dredging Station

Prepare three bowls: one with flour, the second with beaten eggs, and the third with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. 3

    Prepare Chicken

Cut the chicken breasts into strips (about 1 inch wide).

  4. 4

    Bread the Chicken

Dip each chicken strip into the flour, shaking off excess, then into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  5. 5

    Cook Chicken

If baking, place the breaded chicken on a lined baking sheet and spray lightly with cooking spray. Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through. If frying, carefully place breaded strips in hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Chips

  1. 6

    Prepare Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick).

  2. 7

    Soak Potatoes

Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with a towel.

  3. 8

    Heat Oil

Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 180°C (350°F).

  4. 9

    Fry Chips

Fry the potato strips in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste while still hot.
