Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F) and sugar. Stir until dissolved. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast has activated, add it along with olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough starts to form.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

    Shape and Second Rise

After the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Butter Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, garlic powder, chopped fresh parsley, and salt. Mix until fully combined and creamy.

  2. 9

    Chill

Transfer the garlic butter mixture to a piece of parchment paper. Roll it into a log shape and twist the ends to seal. Refrigerate until firm.
