Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cantaloupe

Begin by cutting the cantaloupe in half, removing the seeds, and scooping out the flesh. Measure 1 cup of cantaloupe flesh and set it aside.

  2. 2

    Juice the Lime

Cut the lime in half and squeeze out the juice. You will need the juice from half a lime for this recipe.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Basil

Take 6 fresh basil leaves and gently bruise them by pressing them with the back of a spoon to release their aroma.

Mixing

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a shaker, combine 2 oz of Dulce Vida Reposado Tequila, 1 cup of cantaloupe flesh (diced), 0.5 oz of citric saline, and the juice from half a lime.

  2. 5

    Add Basil

Add the bruised basil leaves into the shaker with the other ingredients.

  3. 6

    Shake

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

Serving

  1. 7

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Optionally, garnish with a sprig of fresh basil or a slice of lime on the rim.
