Meat Mixture

For Grilling

Method

Preparation of Meat Mixture

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, cumin powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix everything with your hands until well combined.

  2. 2

    Add Olive Oil

Drizzle the olive oil over the meat mixture and continue to mix until the oil is fully incorporated.

  3. 3

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Prepare Skewers

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning. If using metal skewers, simply prepare them for grilling.

  2. 5

    Shape the Mixture

Once the meat mixture is chilled, take a handful of the mixture and mold it around each skewer, pressing firmly to ensure it holds its shape.

  3. 6

    Preheat Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  4. 7

    Grill the Skewers

Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lamb is fully cooked and browned on all sides.

Serving

  1. 8

    Prepare the Serving Plate

On a serving platter, arrange the grilled lamb skewers along with pita bread or flatbreads.

  2. 9

    Add Salad and Yogurt

Serve with a side of chopped salad and a bowl of yogurt for dipping.

  3. 10

    Garnish with Lemon

Add lemon wedges to the platter for squeezing over the skewers before eating.
