Labneh Base

Herb Mixture

Method

Prepare the Labneh

  1. 1

    Strain the Yogurt

Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl and line it with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel. Pour the plain yogurt into the lined strainer and sprinkle salt over the yogurt. Gather the edges of the cheesecloth and tie them together to form a pouch. Let it strain in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight for a thicker consistency.

  2. 2

    Add Lemon Juice

Once the yogurt has strained to your desired consistency, transfer it to a mixing bowl. Add the lemon juice to the strained yogurt and mix well until fully combined.

Prepare the Herb Mixture

  1. 3

    Combine Za'atar and Olive Oil

In a small bowl, combine the za'atar spice blend and olive oil. Mix well until the za'atar is fully incorporated into the olive oil, creating a paste.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 4

    Serve the Labneh

Spoon the labneh onto a serving platter or shallow bowl, creating a small well in the center.

  2. 5

    Top with Herb Mixture

Drizzle the za'atar olive oil mixture over the labneh, allowing it to pool in the well you created.

  3. 6

    Prepare the Crudité

Arrange the sliced carrots, cucumber, bell pepper, and celery sticks around the labneh on the platter for dipping.
