Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

Cook the Burger Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheddar, and a slice of tomato. Top with the other half of the bun.
