Method
Preparation of Croissant French Toast
- 1
Prepare the Egg Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- 2
Prepare the Croissants
Slice each croissant in half lengthwise to create a sandwich effect. You can also cut them into quarters if you prefer smaller pieces.
- 3
Soak the Croissants
Dip each half of the croissant into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated but not soggy.
- 4
Cook the Croissants
In a large skillet or frying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the soaked croissants to the pan, cut side down. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
Preparation of Whipped Cream
- 5
Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, pour the heavy cream and add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or whisk, whip the cream until soft peaks form.
Serving
- 6
Plate the French Toast
Once the croissant French toast is cooked, place them on a serving plate.
- 7
Add Whipped Cream and Maple Syrup
Top the croissant French toast with a generous dollop of whipped cream and drizzle with maple syrup to taste.
