Preparation of Topping

Chop the Tomatoes
Dice the Roma tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Add Basil and Garlic
Chop the fresh basil leaves and mince the garlic cloves. Add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

Season the Mixture
Add salt and black pepper to the tomato mixture. Stir gently to combine all ingredients evenly.

Let it Marinate
Allow the mixture to sit for at least 10 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
Baking the Bread

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into 1/2 inch slices on a diagonal.

Brush with Olive Oil
Place the slices on a baking sheet and brush each slice with olive oil on one side.

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

Remove the toasted bread from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice.
