Wash the Blackberries
Place the blackberries in a colander and rinse them under cool running water. Gently shake to remove excess water.

Prepare the Basil
Rinse the fresh basil leaves under cool water. Pat dry with a paper towel and set aside.

Juice the Lemon
Cut the lemon in half and use a juicer or squeeze by hand to extract 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.

Combine Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine the washed blackberries, fresh basil leaves, honey, and water. Stir gently to mix.

Heat the Mixture
Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow it to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the blackberries start to break down.

Add Lemon Juice
Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice into the strained elixir. Mix well to combine.
Serving

Allow the elixir to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Serve chilled over ice or as a refreshing drink on its own.
