Ingredients for Fishman 'O' Rings

Method

Directions for Fishman 'O' Rings

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Peel and slice the onions into 1/2-inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually pour in the beer, stirring until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Coat the Onion Rings

Dip each onion ring into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated. Allow excess batter to drip off.

  5. 5

    Fry the Onion Rings

Carefully place the battered onion rings into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Curry Ketchup

In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup and curry powder until well blended.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the hot onion rings with the curry ketchup on the side for dipping.
