Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Boil them in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to pot.

  2. 2

Add butter, milk, and cooked bacon (chopped) to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Stir in cheddar cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Form the Barrels

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a muffin tin. Spoon the mashed potato mixture into the muffin cups, pressing down to form a barrel shape. Create a small well in the center of each barrel.

  4. 4

Bake for 20-25 minutes until the tops are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Morgan Special

Fill the well of each potato barrel with the choice of smoked pulled pork or smoked chicken.

  6. 6

Top with a dollop of sour cream, a sprinkle of chives, and drizzle with Jim Beam Devil’s Cut BBQ sauce before serving.
