Preparation
- 1
Juicing the Lemons
Roll the lemons on a countertop to release the juices. Cut each lemon in half and use a citrus juicer to extract the juice into a measuring cup. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.
- 2
Making the Sugar Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- 3
Mixing the Lemonade
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, the cooled sugar syrup, and the remaining 3 cups of water. Stir well to mix everything together.
- 4
Adding Mint
Add the fresh mint leaves to the pitcher. Stir gently to infuse the mint flavor into the lemonade. You can also reserve some mint leaves for garnish.
- 5
Chilling and Serving
Add ice cubes to the pitcher or serve the lemonade over ice in individual glasses. Garnish with additional mint leaves if desired.
