Chocolate Lava Cake Ingredients

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave until smooth, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Mix the Batter

Remove the bowl from heat and whisk in the granulated sugar until well combined. Add the eggs and egg yolks, one at a time, whisking until fully incorporated. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Gently fold in the flour until just combined.

  4. 4

    Fill the Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 2/3 full.

  5. 5

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is soft.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let sit for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
