Chocolate Fondant Ingredients

Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Melt the Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Whisk Eggs and Sugar

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking continuously. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, and mix until well combined.

  4. 4

    Add Flour

Sift in the all-purpose flour and gently fold it into the batter until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Prepare Ramekins

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour to prevent sticking.

  6. 6

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling them about 3/4 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.

  8. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Invert each ramekin onto a plate and serve immediately, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
