Method
Turmeric Latte Base
- 1
Measure and combine spices
In a small bowl or cup, combine ground turmeric (1 tsp), ground cinnamon (1 tsp), ground ginger (1/4 tsp) and freshly ground black pepper (1/8 tsp). Mix until evenly blended. This pre-mixes the spices so they disperse evenly into the milk.
- 2
Heat the milk
Pour 12 oz 2% milk into a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat just until small bubbles form around the edge and steam rises, about 3–4 minutes. Do not boil — aim for 150–160°F (65–71°C) if using a thermometer.
- 3
Bloom the spices
Add the combined spice mixture to the warm milk and whisk vigorously for 30–45 seconds to incorporate. Continue to heat gently for another 1–2 minutes, whisking frequently so the spices don't settle and the mixture is smooth.

- 5
Froth (optional)
If you want a frothy latte, transfer the mixture to a milk frother and froth according to the device instructions, or vigorously whisk for 20–30 seconds, or blend in an immersion blender for 10–15 seconds until foamy.
- 6
Serve
Pour the turmeric latte into a 12 oz cup. Hold back foam with a spoon if necessary, then spoon foam on top.
Optional Garnish
- 7
Lightly dust the surface with a pinch of ground cinnamon (about 1/4 tsp) and a faint pinch of turmeric (about 1/16 tsp) for color and aroma. Serve immediately.
