Meatballs and Gravy
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 2
Shape the Meatballs
Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, approximately 5-7 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
- 4
Make the Gravy
In the same skillet, add tomato sauce, water, and bay leaf. Bring to a simmer.
- 5
Combine and Simmer
Add the browned meatballs back to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- 6
Serve
Remove the bay leaf. Serve meatballs and gravy hot, garnished with additional grated Parmesan if desired.
