Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cook for another 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 5

    Slice the Tomato

While the patties are cooking, wash the tomato and slice it into 1/4 inch thick slices.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Lettuce and Pickles

Wash the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Get the pickle slices ready.

Assemble the Cheeseburger

  1. 7

    Toast the Buns (optional)

If desired, you can toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.

  2. 8

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer the lettuce, cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickle slices, ketchup, and mustard. Place the top half of the bun on top to complete the burger.
