Cook slowly over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for 25–30 minutes until deep golden brown and sweet. Set aside.
Wild Mushrooms
- 4
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- 5
Add sliced wild mushrooms and cook without moving them too much for the first few minutes to allow browning.

Add minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes. Stir and cook for another 5–7 minutes until mushrooms are tender and golden. Set aside.
Cheese Base

In a small bowl, mix the Boursin cheese with shredded Fontina until well combined and spreadable. Bring to room temperature if needed for easier mixing.

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat a grill pan.

Drizzle each toast with a small amount of truffle oil.
- 14
