Cinnamon Syrup

Method

Cinnamon Syrup

  1. 1

    Prepare cinnamon syrup

In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, and the cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

  2. 2

Remove from heat and let the syrup steep for an additional 15 minutes for a stronger cinnamon flavor.

  3. 3

Strain out the cinnamon stick and let the syrup cool completely. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Rim Garnish

  1. 4

    Prepare rim garnish

Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow dish.

  2. 5

Rub the lime wedge around the rim of a margarita glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.

Cocktail

  1. 6

    Shake the cocktail

In a cocktail shaker, combine silver tequila, pear nectar, fresh lime juice, triple sec, and cinnamon syrup.

  2. 7

Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

  3. 8

Strain the cocktail into the prepared margarita glass over fresh ice if desired.

  4. 9

Garnish with a thin pear slice or a lime wheel if desired and serve immediately.
