Ingredients

Garnish (optional)
Cocktail
1. Prepare espresso
Brew 1 oz of fresh espresso using an espresso machine or stovetop Moka pot. Allow it to cool slightly (about 1–2 minutes) to prevent dilution or excessive foaming when shaken with ice.
2. Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of vodka, 1 oz of Kahlúa, the slightly cooled 1 oz of espresso, and 0.5 oz of simple syrup.
3. Add ice and shake
Fill the shaker with about 1 cup of ice cubes, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds. This ensures the drink is well-chilled and creates a frothy crema on top.
4. Strain and serve
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled coupe or martini glass to ensure a smooth texture and retain the creamy foam on top.
Garnish (optional)
5. Garnish the top of the drink with 3 whole coffee beans in a triangular pattern for a classic presentation.
