Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

  1. 1

    Rim the glass

Rub the lime wedge around the rim of a chilled rocks or coupe glass. Place coarse salt on a small plate and press the wet rim into the salt to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.

Mix Cocktail

  1. 2

    Combine ingredients

Add Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila (2 oz), Grand Marnier (1/2 oz), triple sec (1/2 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), sour mix (1 oz), and agave syrup (1/4 oz, optional) into a cocktail shaker.

  2. 3

    Add ice

Fill the shaker with 5–6 large ice cubes so the liquid is well-chilled and diluted correctly during shaking.

  3. 4

    Hand-shake vigorously

Seal the shaker and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds (or until the exterior of the shaker is very cold and slightly frosted). This aerates and chills the drink while achieving the proper dilution for a balanced margarita.

  4. 5

    Fine strain & serve

Double-strain the cocktail into the prepared salted glass over fresh ice if serving on the rocks, or strain neat into the chilled coupe. Use a fine mesh strainer in addition to the shaker strainer to catch any small ice shards or pulp for a clean presentation.

  5. 6

    Garnish

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Optionally express a lime peel over the top for extra aroma before dropping it in.
