Fish Preparation

Method

Fish Preparation

1

Clean the Mackerel

Rinse the mackerel under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Trim off any excess fins or tails.

2

Season the Fish

Rub salt and black pepper evenly on both sides of the mackerel. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the seasoning.

Marinade

3

Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir well until combined.

4

Marinate the Fish

Place the seasoned mackerel in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Ensure the fish is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking

5

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.

6

Cook the Mackerel

Carefully place the marinated mackerel in the skillet, skin side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until the skin is crispy and the fish is cooked through.

7

Serve

Once cooked, transfer the mackerel to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
