Prepare the Filling

Slice and Mix
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Peel, core, and slice the Granny Smith apples. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour. Toss until the apples are well coated.

In another bowl, mix together oats, brown sugar, flour, and chopped pecans. Melt the stick of butter and pour it into the mixture, stirring until crumbly.
Assemble and Bake

Layer and Bake
Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the oatmeal pecan topping over the apples. Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

Make Vanilla Carmel Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream and brown sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture begins to bubble. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let cool slightly before serving.
