Brewing the Tea

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Steep Tea
Once boiling, remove the pot from the heat and add 5 tablespoons of black tea leaves. Allow the tea to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

Strain Tea
After steeping, strain the tea leaves using a fine mesh strainer into a heatproof pitcher.
Mint Infusion

Prepare Mint
While the tea is steeping, rinse 1 cup of fresh mint leaves under cold water. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

Combine with Tea
Add the fresh mint leaves to the strained tea while it's still warm. If desired, add 2 tablespoons of sugar to sweeten. Stir gently to mix.

Cool Down
Let the tea and mint mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until chilled.
Serving

Prepare Glasses
Fill each serving glass with ice cubes, about 1 cup of ice per glass.

Pour Tea
Once the tea is chilled, pour it over the ice in each glass.

Garnish with lemon slices as desired and serve immediately.
