Fried Pickles
Spicy Ranch Dipping Sauce
Method
Fried Pickles
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the sliced dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until fully combined.
- 3
Prepare Buttermilk
Pour the buttermilk into a separate bowl.
- 4
Dredge the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then dredge it in the flour mixture. Ensure each slice is well coated.
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping in a small amount of the flour mixture; it should sizzle.
- 6
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add the coated pickles in batches to the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Spicy Ranch Dipping Sauce
- 7

- 8
Serve
