In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Add chicken thighs, ensuring they are fully submerged in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

Prepare the Breading Mixture
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Coat the Chicken
Remove marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Dredge each piece in the breading mixture, making sure to coat all sides thoroughly. Shake off any excess flour.

Fry the Chicken
Carefully add coated chicken pieces to the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 8-10 minutes per side or until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Once cooked, remove chicken from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
