Chicken Wings
Candied Bacon
Method
Chicken Wings Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 2
Prepare the Chicken Wings
In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and olive oil. Toss until the wings are evenly coated with the seasonings.
- 3
Arrange on Baking Sheet
Place the seasoned chicken wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are spaced evenly apart.
- 4
Bake the Wings
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and cooked through.
Candied Bacon Preparation
- 5
Prepare the Bacon
While the wings are baking, line another baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the bacon slices in a single layer.
- 6
Mix Candied Topping
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, maple syrup, and freshly cracked black pepper.
- 7
Coat the Bacon
Sprinkle the brown sugar mixture evenly over the bacon slices.
- 8
Bake the Bacon
Place the bacon in the oven (you can add it during the last 15-20 minutes of the wing baking) and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the bacon is caramelized and crispy. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
Assembly
- 9
Combine and Serve
Once both the chicken wings and candied bacon are done, remove them from the oven. Chop the candied bacon into small pieces and sprinkle over the wings before serving. Enjoy!
