Preparation of Butterfly Pea Flower Tea

    Prepare the Tea

    Boil 1 cup of water and add 1-2 teaspoons of dried butterfly pea flowers. Let steep for 10 minutes until the water turns a vibrant blue color. Strain and set aside to cool.

Mixing the Cocktail

    Combine Ingredients

    In a shaker, combine 1 cup of St. Elder Liqueur and 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. Add the cooled butterfly pea flower tea and fill the shaker with ice.

    Shake

    Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

    Strain

    Strain the mixture into a champagne flute or coupe glass.

Serving

    Top with Champagne

    Carefully top the strained mixture with chilled champagne or sparkling wine, allowing it to mix slightly with the blue tea.

    Garnish

    Garnish with edible flowers or a lemon slice on the rim of the glass.
