Method

Preparing the Brisket

  1. 1

    Season the Brisket

Rub the beef brisket with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, ensuring it's evenly coated. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sear the Brisket

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the brisket on all sides until browned (about 3-4 minutes per side). This step enhances the flavor.

Cooking the Brisket

  1. 3

    Slow Cook

Transfer the seared brisket to a slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart.

Making the BBQ Glaze

  1. 4

    Prepare the Glaze

In a mixing bowl, combine BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika. Stir until well mixed.

  2. 5

    Glaze the Brisket

Once the brisket is done cooking, carefully remove it from the slow cooker. Brush the BBQ glaze generously over the meat.

Finishing Touches

  1. 6

    Broil for Crispness

Preheat your oven's broiler. Place the glazed brisket on a baking sheet and broil for 5-7 minutes until the glaze is bubbly and caramelized.

  2. 7

    Slice and Serve

Let the brisket rest for 10 minutes before slicing it against the grain. Serve with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
