Preparation
Prepare the Pears
Peel, core, and chop the pears into small pieces. Measure out 2 cups of chopped pears.
Simmer
Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 15 minutes, until the pears are soft and the syrup has thickened slightly.
Strain the Mixture
Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing down on the pears to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
Strain Again
After 2 weeks, strain the liqueur again through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the spices.
Bottle and Store
Transfer the liqueur into clean, sterilized bottles and seal tightly. Store in the refrigerator or a cool, dark place.
