Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Chill the Glass

Place a chilled rocks glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while preparing the drink.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Glass

Discard the ice water from the glass (if used) and add Herbsaint. Swirl it around to coat the inside of the glass, then discard any excess.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing glass, muddle the sugar cube with a few dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters until the sugar is dissolved.

  4. 4

    Add the Rye

Add the Whistle Pig Piggyback Rye to the mixing glass with ice and stir until well chilled.

  5. 5

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into the prepared glass with Herbsaint, and garnish with a twist of lemon peel.
