Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fish

In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.

  2. 2

    Batter the Fish

Dip each catfish fillet into the egg mixture, then dredge it in the flour-cornmeal mixture, ensuring it's well coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Fish

Carefully place the coated catfish fillets in the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Cook the Fries

While the fish is frying, cook the frozen french fries according to the package instructions until crispy.

  6. 6

    Serve

Plate the fried catfish fillets alongside a portion of crispy fries. Serve with cajun tartar sauce for dipping.
