Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the vegetables

Thinly slice the onion and mushrooms. If using whole peppers, slice them into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Sauté the vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until they become translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the mushrooms and peppers, and sauté for an additional 5 minutes until softened.

Cooking the Impossible Meat

  1. 3

    Cook the Impossible meat

Add the Impossible meat to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Use a spatula to break it apart and mix it with the veggies. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the meat is browned and heated through.

  2. 4

    Melt the cheese

Once the meat is fully cooked, place the slices of white American cheese on top of the mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 5

    Prepare the rolls

While the cheese melts, slice the sub rolls in half lengthwise, but do not cut through completely. Toast the rolls if desired.

  2. 6

    Assemble the cheesesteak

Once the cheese is melted, spoon the Impossible meat and veggie mixture into the toasted rolls. Serve hot.
