Method

Turkey Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Turkey

Remove the turkey from its packaging, and pat it dry with paper towels.

  3. 3

    Season the Turkey

Rub the turkey all over with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.

  4. 4

    Roast the Turkey

Place the turkey in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for about 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Baste the turkey every hour with its own juices.

  5. 5

    Rest the Turkey

Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before pulling the meat apart.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 6

    Slice the Vegetables

While the turkey is resting, slice the tomato and onion into thin slices.

  2. 7

    Pull the Turkey

Using two forks or your hands, pull the roasted turkey into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Sandwich

Take a bread roll and spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the inside of each half. Layer the pulled turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato slices, and onion slices.

  4. 9

    Serve

Close the sandwich and serve it immediately. Enjoy your homemade turkey sandwich!
