Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare Baking Sheet

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Mixing the Dough

  1. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Cream Butter and Sugars

In a large bowl, using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and well combined.

  3. 5

    Add Egg and Vanilla

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and beat until fully incorporated.

  4. 6

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  5. 7

    Fold in Chocolate Chips

Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed in the dough.

Baking

  1. 8

    Scoop Dough

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

  2. 9

    Bake the Cookies

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.

  3. 10

    Cool the Cookies

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
