Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the ribeye steak against the grain to ensure tenderness.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the onion, mushrooms, and green bell pepper. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Steak

In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced steak, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked to your liking.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In another skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, mushrooms, and green bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they are tender.

  3. 5

    Combine Steak and Vegetables

Add the cooked steak to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Mix well and allow to cook together for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  4. 6

    Add Cheese

Place the slices of white American cheese on top of the steak and vegetable mixture. Cover the skillet for a couple of minutes until the cheese is melted.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Prepare the Rolls

Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, but not all the way through, to create a pocket for the filling.

  2. 8

    Assemble the Cheesesteak

Fill each hoagie roll with the steak and vegetable mixture. Top with hot or sweet peppers as desired.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve the cheesesteaks immediately while hot. Enjoy!
