Steak and Cheese

BLT Components

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Cook the Steak

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper. Once hot, place the steak on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Onions

While the steak is cooking, slice the onion into thin rings. In a separate pan over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté the onions until they are soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Melt the Cheese

Once the steak is cooked to your liking, place the sautéed onions on top of the steak and add the slices of white American cheese. Cover the pan or grill to allow the cheese to melt, about 2 minutes.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 4

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the tomato into thin rounds and wash the lettuce leaves.

  3. 6

    Spread the Mayonnaise

Cut the sub sandwich rolls in half and spread mayonnaise on the inside of each half.

  4. 7

    Build the Sandwich

Layer the grilled steak and melted cheese on the bottom half of each roll. Top with crispy bacon, lettuce, and tomato slices. Place the top half of the roll on the sandwich.

  5. 8

    Serve

Cut the sandwiches in half if desired. Serve immediately while hot.
