Prepare the Coleslaw

Mix Coleslaw Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly coated.

Chill Coleslaw
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the coleslaw for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Make the Russian Dressing

Combine Dressing Ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika until smooth and well combined.
Assemble the Sandwich

Heat Pastrami
In a skillet over medium heat, warm the pastrami for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until heated through.

Toast Bread
While the pastrami is heating, toast the rye bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.

Layer Ingredients
Spread a generous amount of Russian dressing on one slice of toasted rye bread. Top with the warm pastrami, followed by the Swiss cheese slices. On the other slice of rye bread, spread coleslaw, then place it on top of the sandwich.

Gently press down on the sandwich to secure the ingredients, then cut it in half and serve immediately.
