Chicharrones
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pork Belly
Cut the pork belly into 1-inch cubes and season with salt and chili powder. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to ensure the correct temperature.
- 3
Fry the Chicharrones
Carefully add the marinated pork belly cubes to the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 4
Drain and Season
Once cooked, remove the chicharrones from the oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with additional chili powder if desired.
