Method

Prepare Bacon Jam

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 2

    Sauté Onions

In the same skillet, add chopped onions and cook until they are caramelized.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Add the bacon back to the skillet along with brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, coffee, and black pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes until thickened.

  4. 4

    Blend the Jam

Once thickened, blend the mixture until smooth and set aside.

Prepare Herb Aioli

  1. 5

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped fresh herbs, lemon juice, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined.

Cook the Burger

  1. 6

    Form Patties

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties.

  2. 7

    Cook Patties

Grill or pan-fry the patties over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.

  3. 8

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Prepare Fries

  1. 9

    Cut Potatoes

Cut potatoes into thin strips to make fries.

  2. 10

    Heat Oil

In a large pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 11

    Fry Potatoes

Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 12

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of the bun, spread a layer of bacon jam, place the cheeseburger patty on top, add a dollop of herb aioli, and top with pickles. Finish with the top half of the bun.
