Method

Prepare the Steak

  1. 1

    Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the ribeye steak against the grain into strips about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Season the sliced steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Vegetables

  1. 4

    Chop the Vegetables

While the steak is cooking, slice the green bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Mince the garlic.

  2. 5

    Cook the Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the steak, add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms. Sauté over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Assemble the Sandwiches

  1. 6

    Combine Steak and Vegetables

Add the cooked steak back into the skillet with the vegetables. Mix well and cook together for 1-2 minutes until heated through.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Rolls

While the steak and veggies are cooking, spread butter on the hoagie rolls and toast them lightly on a skillet or in the oven.

  3. 8

    Add Cheese

Place slices of provolone cheese over the steak and vegetable mixture in the skillet. Cover to melt the cheese for about 2 minutes.

  4. 9

    Serve the Sandwiches

Scoop the steak and cheese mixture into the toasted hoagie rolls. Serve hot.
