Burger Patties

Burger Assembly

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix the ingredients gently until just combined. Be careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking, covering them to help melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burgers

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, you can toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, then the cooked patty with melted cheese. Add a slice of tomato, pickles, and a drizzle of ketchup and mustard to taste. Top with the other half of the bun.
