Beer Battered Fish
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually pour in the beer while whisking until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 3
Batter the Fish
Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels. Dip each fillet into the batter, ensuring it's completely coated.
- 4
Fry the Fish
Carefully place the battered fish fillets into the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 5
Serve
Serve the beer battered fish with hand-cut fries, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. Garnish with lemon wedges.
