Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak

1

Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

2

Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

3

Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet or grill over high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steak. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust time according to your desired doneness. Add crushed garlic cloves to the pan halfway through cooking for added flavor.

4

Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

5

Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into equal-sized chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

6

Boil the Potatoes

Bring the pot of water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add a teaspoon of salt and cook the potatoes until they are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

7

Prepare the Garlic

While the potatoes are boiling, peel and finely chop the garlic cloves.

8

Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, milk, chopped garlic, salt, and black pepper. Use a potato masher or fork to mash until smooth and creamy.

9

Serve the Mashed Potatoes

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve warm alongside the ribeye steak.
