Ingredients
Fried Crawfish Tails
Preparation
1. Marinate the Crawfish
In a bowl, soak the crawfish tails in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes to enhance tenderness and flavor.
2. Prepare the Coating
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, cajun seasoning, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well to create the coating.
3. Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C). Ensure there is enough oil for deep frying.
4. Coat the Crawfish Tails
Remove the crawfish tails from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge them in the flour mixture until well coated.
5. Fry the Crawfish
Carefully place the coated crawfish tails into the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
6. Drain and Serve
Remove the fried crawfish tails and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
