Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Rub this mixture all over the flank steak.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the seasoned flank steak on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F for medium-rare. Remove from grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Salad Assembly

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the steak is resting, wash and chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place in a large salad bowl.

  2. 4

    Roast the Tomatoes

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place cherry tomatoes on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Roast in the oven for about 15 minutes, until they are soft and slightly caramelized.

  3. 5

    Sauté the Onions

Slice the onion into thin strips. In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they are translucent and golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.

  4. 6

    Slice the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Slice the avocado into thin slices.

  5. 7

    Assemble the Salad

On top of the chopped romaine, layer the sliced flank steak, roasted tomatoes, sautéed onions, sliced avocado, and crumbled goat cheese. Drizzle with balsamic glaze to taste.
