Ingredients for Sesame Chicken Tenders

Method

Directions for Sesame Chicken Tenders

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, mix the sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Add the chicken breast tenders to the marinade, making sure they are completely coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for better flavor.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the cornstarch. In the second bowl, whisk the eggs until well combined. In the third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs and sesame seeds.

  3. 3

    Bread the Chicken

Remove the chicken tenders from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip off. Dredge each tender first in the cornstarch, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the panko breadcrumbs mixture. Press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to ensure they stick well.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test the oil by dropping a small piece of bread into it; if it sizzles and bubbles, the oil is ready.

  5. 5

    Fry the Chicken Tenders

Carefully add the breaded chicken tenders to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked tenders to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the chicken tenders cool slightly before serving. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauces, such as sweet and sour sauce or more soy sauce.
