Meatballs

Method

Prepare Meatballs

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatballs

Wet your hands with water to prevent sticking. Take a small amount of the meat mixture and roll it into a ball about the size of a golf ball. Repeat until all the mixture is used.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Cook Sausage

  1. 4

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped bell pepper and onion. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened.

  2. 5

    Cook Sausage

Add the Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 6

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Stir in crushed tomatoes and Italian seasoning. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook for an additional 10 minutes to meld the flavors.

Combine and Serve

  1. 7

    Combine Meatballs and Sausage

Once the meatballs are baked, add them to the skillet with the sausage and sauce. Gently stir to coat the meatballs with the sauce.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve the meatballs and sausage hot, optionally with pasta or on a sub roll with cheese.
