Method
Tuna Preparation
Seer the Tuna
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Sprinkle the blackening seasoning on both sides of the Ahi tuna. Once the oil is hot, sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for a minute before slicing into thin strips.
Apple Slaw
Prepare the Slaw
In a large bowl, combine the julienned green apple, grated carrot, and shredded red cabbage. In a small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, honey, salt, and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss until well combined. Set aside to let the flavors meld.
Assembly
Assemble the Wraps
Take a butter lettuce leaf and place a few slices of the seared Ahi tuna in the center. Top with a generous amount of apple slaw. Drizzle wasabi paste and Hawaiian barbeque sauce over the top. Fold the lettuce wrap around the filling and serve immediately.
