Method
Cooking the Patty/Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- 2
Season the Meat
Season the Angus beef patty or chicken breast with salt and pepper on both sides.
- 3
Grill the Patty/Chicken
Place the patty or chicken breast on the grill. For the beef, grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. For chicken, grill for about 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
Cooking the Toppings
- 4
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, add the applewood bacon slices and cook until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
- 5
Fry the Egg
In the same skillet, add a tablespoon of cooking oil if needed. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook sunny-side up or to your desired doneness, about 2-3 minutes.
- 6
Melt the Cheese
During the last minute of cooking the patty or chicken, place the slice of extra sharp cheddar cheese on top to melt.
Assembling the Burger
- 7
Prepare the Bun
Toast the burger bun on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- 8
Assemble the Burger
Place the grilled patty or chicken breast on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Top with crispy bacon, the fried egg, and cover with the top half of the bun.
